Miyakojima (Miyako Island) is located in the Pacific Ocean about 300 kilometers to the southwest of Okinawa Main Island. One of Okinawa Prefecture's main islands, it is flat like a low plateau with lots of arable land used to grow sugarcane. The coastline differs in each area on the island, combining rich nature, white beaches, transparent waters and coral reefs, which have helped make the island well known for its many great diving spots. You can find beautiful beaches and enjoy marine sports anywhere on the island.

There are seven islets around the island. Two of them, Ikemajima and Kurimajima, are connected with a long bridge, and you can reach them by rental car or bike. Cape Irihen'na, projecting from the northern tip of the island, commands a vast view of Ikemajima Island to the north, Irabu-jima Island to the west, and coral reefs below. At the east end of the island is Cape Agarihen'na, two kilometers long and 200 meters wide, where you can enjoy a wonderful sight of mysterious rocks standing in a row in the coral reef sea. Beautiful beaches such as Yonaha-Maehama and Sunayama, with milky white shores, are great for swimming and are just some of the many charming points of Miyakojima.

Known in Miyakojima as Maibama Beach, Yonaha Maehama Beach is praised as the best beach of the East. With its 7-kilometers long shore of white sand and cobalt blue glittering water, it is a delight for the eyes. The beach offers various marine sports and there is also a camping nearby. The beach is also the starting point of the Miyakojima annual Triathlon

The arch-shaped rock carved out by the waves is the symbol of Sunayama Beach. The cobalt blue sea expands beyond the small sand dunes. This cozy beach with art created by nature such as the contrast of light and shadow with the blue sea, pure white sand and the arch-shaped rock is a sheer beauty. Since the urban area of Hirara City is only about 4km away, it is a familiar place for tourists in addition to local residents.

Painagama Beach is just in front of our studios. It is famous for BBQ party, and leisurely week-ends with local people.

Restaurant: on the first floor of the residence, you have a nice fish restaurant, izakaya type. Around our studios, many type of restaurants are available (pizza, grilled meat Yakiniku, etc). Our studios are located 10/12 minutes from the center of the city, where you will find many other types of restaurants. If you have any questions or request about food or restaurant, feel free to contact us anytime.

Supermarket: Our studios are fully furnished. It means that you can cook by yourself in the room if you want. Around the studios, you can find several supermarkets on par with anything else in Japan. A convenience store open round the clock is located right on the first floor of the residence.Food prices on Miyakojima are almost similar to big cities in Japan. Supermarkets are usually open from 8:30 AM to 2:00 AM next day. Some are open 24 hours. And as many other commerces in Japan, all shops are opened 7 days a week.

Entertainments: After soaking sun and light on a wonderful beach, it will be great to sip a Pina-Colada on a terrace bar located 300 meters from our studios. Or you can chill out in the center of the town and discover bars, restaurants, etc.

Activities: Miyakojima is famous for marine sports, with everything you want to enjoy the sea around wonderful beaches, at all levels (beginner to pro). We can manage for you all kind of activities during your stay. Just tell us your wish, and we will help you!
